Howard Douglas (Doug) Pool

This page is dedicated to the memory of Howard Douglas (Doug) Pool. Doug was born 30 March 1942 and departed from us 15 July, 2000. Doug was a true friend because he asked nothing from us except our friendship. He needed nothing from us except our friendship, and added much to our lives by just being Doug. To Jen, Cindy, Greg, T. J. and "Mama" Pool may God bless and keep you.

Turn Again to Life

If I should die and leave you here a while,

Be not like others, sore undone, who keep

Long vigil by the silent dust and weep,

For my sake turn again to life and smile,

Nerving thy heart and trembling hand to do

that which will comfort other souls than thine;

Complete these dear unfinished tasks of mine,

and I, perchance, may therein comfort you.

by Mary Lee Hall

Doug was a true Texas Son, In many ways Doug was like a Texas Sunset, strong without pretense, easily heard without being loud, and impressive without grandeur.
