Finally

by Ashley Gayle Pickle

There once was a mouse, his name was Mr. Jingles. He lived in Mouse City, but he was not happy. He wanted to live in a place where there was not many like him. One day he got the courage to go find a place like that. Mr. Jingles started following the river.

He wanted to cross the river. He came to a log crossing the river so he took the chance and crossed on the log. When he got across he heard a noise in the bush. A black furry thing jumped out. It was a bunny. Her name was Dusty.

Dusty said she was going some place where there wasn't as many bunnies as there were where she lived. So they walked together to their new home. They came to a big hole in the ground. Then they crawled down in the hole. Half way down the hole was a ferret crying.

They asked what was wrong. She said there were too many ferrets in their colony and that she had to leave her home. Mr. Jingles said she could search for a new home with them. Dusty asked her what her name was. It was Missy. Missy stopped crying and headed off with Mr. Jingles and Dusty.

They got so tired they stopped on a rock and rested. They saw a big hole in the ground and there was a pond close by for drinking. It was perfect. Missy started to go down the hole to see if someone lived in it. Guess what? No body was living there!

Mr. Jingles, Dusty, and Missy started to gather up stuff for a bed inside the hole. When they were finished they went to bed.
