This lotion bar looks like a bar of soap, but is used as a rub-on moisturizer after bath or shower. I keep one of these "bars" sitting on a shelf above my kitchen sink and give my hands a quick "rub" every time I wash dishes or do cleaning.
6 ounces Beeswax (weight)
6 ounces Shea Butter (or Mango Butter)
4 ounces Cocoa Butter
8 ounces Almond Oil (or other oil of choice)
1 tsp. Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E or other ultra moisturizing oil
Fragrance of choice.
Melt & mix well and pour into any container that is heat resistant. I sometimes use my fancy soap molds and sometimes I use the heavy plastic from cookie packages. I usually use vanilla or vanilla-nut type fragrances since they blend so well with the cocoa butter's natural fragrance.
If you want an exceptionally wonderful lotion bar, cut the Almond Oil to 6 ounces and add 2 oz. of Emu Oil to this mixture. I personally try to stay away from petroleum, animal by-products and anti-freeze that is found in most commercial soaps, lotions and cosmetics.
